The Will Smith family were all smiles at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert on Friday night. Per usual, superstar daddy Will and wife Jada Pinkett Smith were impeccably dressed for the fancy occasion. As were their children: son Jaden, 11, and daughter Willow, 9. Look at the hair on these kids! Rihanna is obviously a fashion icon for Willow, who sports a similar style -- stick straight bob on one side, razor-short on the other. All the better to show that young Willow definitely inherited her father's ears....really she with the except of the hair...she looks just like Will! Meanwhile, I am in complete and utter awe of brother Jaden's 'fro that is seriously so wide that it extends to the end of his shoulders. And is it just me or does the Fresh Prince's fresh prince look like he's about two weeks from being ready for his first shave?

This is Charla Nash almost one year after she was mauled by a 200 pound chimpanzee.l her face and share heartbreaking details on her life since the attack. Nash who turned 56 Tuesday revealed the remnants of her missing eyes, nose and lips, Nash says she feels no pain but that she tries not to touch her face so as to avoid knowing the full extent of her injuries.
"I don't ask a whole lot about my injuries... I know that I have my forehead," she said. She now drinks her meals with a straw through a small hole where her mouth used to be. Nash lost both her hands in the attack, as well as her nose, an eyelid, and lips. Doctors removed her eyes due to an infection, and only recently did she learn she'll no longer be able to see.
Nash now walks around her Cleveland hospital — from which she might be released soon — in a veil. She is happy to be alive! I give her a lot of credit, I don't know if I would feel the same way!

Country music and professional sports are hopelessly intertwined. Country stars go to the games, athletes show up at their concerts, and then those stars go to even more games. It's like a never-ending circle of mutual admiration.
And on Nov. 13, it gets even better for Chicago. Greg Olsen, the Chicago Bears' tight end, is hosting a Shake the Lake country concert to benefit breast cancer, brain cancer and Children's Memorial Hospital. Keith Anderson and David Nail will both be on hand to entertain and raise a little cash.
But why would two guys from Nashville come up to support the Bears? "My lead guitar player grew up in Chicago, and I just kind of took up his passion," Anderson told me. "We didn't have a pro football team when I was growing up in Oklahoma, so I had to pick Steelers or Cowboys. I'm a Steelers fan, but now I'm a Bears fan all the way. And Greg Olsen's the best tight end in the league." Noting that he's also looking forward to seeing Nail's show, Anderson said, "I was blown away when I saw his live show. He's got one of my favorite voices in country right now." Even Nail said, "I'm excited to share the stage with Keith Anderson and to support the work that Greg does."

That is what Michael Jackson's Mother and four children are getting from his estate each month! Wow! I am sorry....that is just unbelievable! There are 50,000 homeless people in L.A. who could use more mental health care, clothes, food etc.! Just think what even half of that money could do for those people each month!!!!

Katherine Jackson was granted custody of her son's three children soon after Jackson's June 25 death. She and the children were named beneficiaries, along with unnamed charities, in Jackson's 2002 will.

Control of the estate's assets, however, was given to lawyer John Branca and John McClain.

The petitions filed by Branca and McClain in July, and later approved by Judge Mitchell Beckloff, outlined $26,804 in monthly expenses for Katherine Jackson.

The largest amount from that, $4,722, pays for an assistant for her. Another $3,500 each month is budgeted for clothing for Katherine Jackson, who is 79 years old. She's also given $2,000 each for a housekeeper and driver. She has a $1,500 entertainment allowance each month, the documents said.

On Aug. 27, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office in Calif. released the police mugshots of Jaycee's kidnappers: Phillip Garrido and his wife Nancy. Police charge that Nancy was with Garrido when they snatched Jaycee on June 10, 1991, as she walked to her school bus stop.

Phillip Garrido, kidnapping suspect in Jaycee Lee Dugard case, admitted to drug-fueled sex fantasies! The monster who kept a California girl as his sex slave for 18 years once told a detective he needed to dominate women to satisfy his sexual urges.

Phillip Garrido made the creepy admission after he was busted in 1976 for kidnapping and raping a Nevada casino worker.

DeMaranville said Garrido - some 30 years before he kidnapped and held captive Jaycee Lee Dugard - appeared surprisingly sharp despite a heavy drug habit.

The sicko drifted through much of the 70s high on acid, pot and cocaine.

The twisted sex fiend was sentenced to 50 years for the kidnapping conviction and life for the rape conviction but was inexplicably granted parole in 1988.

Dugard, now 29, vanished after getting pulled into a truck at a South Lake Tahoe bus stop in 1991, prompting a frantic search.

It turns out Garrido kept Dugard and the daughters he fathered with her captive in a secret compound behind his home in Antioch, Calif..

Local cops acknowledged they missed an opportunity to save the girls three years when a neighbor told police the man known as "Creepy Phil" had sexual addictions and kept little girls in his backyard.

The deputy dispatched to Garrido's home left without even stepping foot in the registered sex offender's backyard.

The mystery of Dugard's abduction began unraveling Monday when Garrido showed up at the University of California, Berkeley, seeking permission to pass out religious tracts and was told to come back the next day.

Alerted by a suspicious staffer, campus cop Allison Jacobs ran a background check on Garrido and learned he was a registered sex offender on lifetime federal parole for a 1971 kidnapping and rape.

When Garrido arrived the next day with his daughters, Jacobs sat in on the meeting and noted that the girls "had this weird look in their eyes like brainwashed zombies."

She described the girls' appearance as "'Little House on the Prairie' meets robots."

DJ AM (real name Adam Goldstein) was found dead in his NYC apartment on Friday. A friend found him laying face-down on his bed on Friday, and there was drug paraphernalia in the apartment. A pipe for smoking drugs as well as prescription bottles were discovered.

DJ AM's last post to Twitter was on August 25th, and quoted Grandmaster Flash from the song "New York New York."

The celebrity disc jockey and Los Angeles club owner was a jet setter who spun records at some of the world's most exclusive parties, including private events for Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Stiller, among many others, and could command more than $25,000 for a three-hour set. A former member of the rock band Crazy Town, he grabbed tabloid headlines for having been engaged to socialite/reality TV star Nicole Richie and dating actress/singer Mandy Moore.

Throughout his early 20s, he struggled with drugs, depression and his weight, which reached 300 pounds in the mid-1990s. In 1997, Goldstein said in interviews that he came close to killing himself. Instead, however, he gave up drugs and alcohol and underwent gastric bypass surgery, resulting in a drastic weight reduction.

Goldstein's death comes almost a year after he survived a fiery Learjet crash on the runway of a South Carolina airport that claimed the lives of two other passengers and left him covered with second- and third-degree burns.

Goldstein announced his participation in a new reality TV show for MTV called "Gone Too Far." The program followed Goldstein -- who battled addiction for 10 years -- as he helped the loved ones of drug addicts stage interventions. At a news conference last month, Goldstein said he wanted to help others because he had escaped death twice as a former addict and crash survivor."There's no reason why I should have lived or why I lived and they didn't," Goldstein said. "I'm alive and I'm here and I have another chance. So I have to do something better with my life this time."

In honor of my Swedish (straight of the boat!) father-in-laws 80th Birthday this week...Rik and I are hosting a traditional Swedish Crayfish party for family & friends!

A crayfish party is a traditional summertime eating and drinking celebration. The tradition originated in Sweden, where a crayfish party is called a kräftskiva.
Crayfish parties are generally held during August, a tradition that started because crayfish harvesting in Sweden was, for most of the 20th century, legally limited to late summer. Today, the “kräftpremiär” date in early August has no legal significance. Customary party accessories are comical paper hats, paper tablecloths, paper lanterns (often depicting the Man in the Moon), and bibs. A rowdy atmosphere prevails amid noisy eating and traditional drinking songs (snapsvisa). It is culturally correct to suck the juice out of the crayfish before shelling it.

This is the actual answering machine message for the school. This came about because they implemented a policy requiring students and parents to be responsible for their children's absences and missing homework. The school and teachers are being sued by parents who want their children's failing grades changed to passing grades - even though those children were absent 15-30 times during the semester and did not complete enough school work to pass their classes. I think the message is AWESOME!

An Ex-American Idol Ex-Idol Contestant Says Show Is Rigged....Duh....do you think?

I still enjoy the show for it's entertainment value....whether it's rigged or not!

Some ousted season 8 American Idol top 36 semi-finalists--including Felicia Barton, Kendall Beard, and Ju'Not Joyner--participated in an online chat with the Idol website AI Now today. And during his frank online conversation with fans, Ju'Not came right out and said that the TV talent show is in fact rigged, and that its contracts are unfair to contestants.
"It's a fixed thing if I ever saw one," he boldly declared--much to the shock of many naive chatters, who responded with capslocked interjections and frowny-faced emoticons.

Ju'Not--who by his own account was labeled a "troublemaker" by Idol producers for questioning the contract (which he dubbed a "slavetract") that all auditioners are required by Fox/19 to sign, and was allegedly told by Idol bigwig Ken Warwick, "You're not going to ruin my show"--explained that he wanted to set the record straight today. He stated that he wanted to reveal "truth of Idol" because "Idol ain't all it is cracked up to be...It's certainly not the fairytale most think it is."

While Ju'Not made it clear he believes Kris Allen is indeed talented and deserved to win this season, he also maintained that Kris's victory was fixed. "The producers know who they want and they slant it to reflect that. They fix it in a way that makes you surprised but it's still manipulated," he typed. "Think about it...ADAM, ADAM, ADAM, then...Kris....SURPRISE SMITHCHES!!!!

So, was Ju'Not speaking the truth? If so, then he is to be commended for his bravery. But it's possible he was just trying to drum up publicity for the "hot" new album he's self-releasing this winter, in which case he's a typical showbiz opportunist.

I can't wait until my husband gets his first ticket!!!! As of June 30th it is a primary offense when a driver is not wearing a seat belt in Wisconsin! That means you can now be pulled over for not having a seat belt on and get ticketed. You could be ticketed before, but only if you got pulled over for another offense! This follows suit with states like North Carolina and Florida.

Here is the law;

Any automobile sold in the state of Wisconsin must be equipped with safety belts.
All drivers of motor vehicles and all passengers over the age of four must wear safety belts.
These laws apply to Wisconsin residents and non-residents alike in all front seat positions and in rear seat positions with three-point belts. Children under four are required to be restrained in an appropriate child safety restraint.

A standard, or primary enforcement seat belt law allows police to stop and ticket a driver for not wearing a seat belt, just like any other routine traffic violation.

Wisconsin law provides for a fine of $10 and no points are assigned against a person's driver record. Those subject to the penalty include drivers, drivers with unrestrained passengers 4 to 16 years old and passengers at least 16 years old.

The penalty for violating the child passenger law involving a child under the age of 4 is not less than $30 or more than $75. The penalty for violating the child passenger law involving a child between the ages of 4-8 is not less than $10 or more than $25.

Ever take the inkblot test—or at least see one administered on TV (like in any "Law & Order" episode)? If so, then you know that there are no right or wrong answers on a Rorschach test, but responses do provide insight to the test-taker's state of mind. And yet, a controversy about the posting of 10 Rorschach inkblots on Wikipedia is rocking the scientific community, in addition to the blots themselves, the Wikipedia entry also includes the most common interpretations of what these blots look like—the old bison vs. butterfly vs. moth. So I promptly saved the Wikipedia article just in case I find myself in a situation where I am asked to take the test, I too can now cheat!!! By the way, the most common answers for the picture above is that the blue area looks like a crab, lobster or spider. I just think it looks like a Picasso!

He is on my bucket list...to dance with him (just like him and Uma in Pulp Fiction) before I die! So strangly enough I had a dream about him earlier this week...nothing perverted....just like he was apart of my every day life (my husband does sort of resemble him :) and I wolk up to all kinds rumor going around that one of Scientology's most powerful proponents, John Travolta, is looking to leave the draconian religion once and for all. Scientology or not...I still love him.

Of course John (as I like to call him), says there is no truth to the rumors. The rumors say Travolta was on the verge of bolting the cult, citing his despodency over the death of his son Jett, whose autism reportedly went untreated on account of how Scientology doesn't believe in autism. The first glimpse of daylight between Travolta, who has reportedly funded the church to the tune of millions, and Scientology came last month when details of a Bahamian police report emerged in which Travolta acknowledged that Jett "suffered from a seizure disorder and was autistic." But a Travolta rep says "There's no change in the relationship between the Church of Scientology and John he is a member and it's as it was, now and forever." And in Scientology, forever means, like, forever.

I will never forget my 13th birthday!

It was October of 1984 and my Mother and I slept over night at Comiskey Park in Chicago to buy the very sought after tickets for the Jackson Victory Tour...the last time the Jackson Brothers toured in the U.S.

When Michael Jackson took the stage I bawled like a baby for 15 minutes! It was awesome and an event I will never forget.

I felt a little cheated during the past several years because someone who was such a big part of my teen years was involved in so much controversy, I just wanted people to think of him as the great entertainer that he was. Now that he has a passed I hope all of the good he did will over shadow the controversy in the years to come!

Sarah Palin says David Letterman owes an apology to young women across the country for his joke about her daughter. The Alaska governor appeared on NBC's "Today" show Friday, continuing a feud with the CBS "Late Show" funnyman over his joke earlier this week that Palin's daughter got "knocked up" by New York Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez during their recent trip to New York. Letterman said it was meant for Palin's 18-year-old daughter, not the 14-year-old who was at the Yankee's game...and that is supposed to make it ok? Not so sure I would want to piss off that gun toten momma!

Kiefer Sutherland turned himself into police on Thursday and was arrested and charged with assault for headbutting another man at a party in New York City...sticking up for Brooke Shields!
After answering questions from investigators, he was booked on one count of misdemeanor assault and issued an appearance citation, which allows the 24 star to travel until his June 22 arraignment.

I love Lost Bopys...24...and Kiefer...but I often wonder what he is thinking or if he is thinking at all! He recently spent time in jail for drinking and driving...holding up production of the current season of 24!
